Zigzag Stitched Coconut Coir Scrubber (Pack of 5)
Item description
Green plastic scrub pads wear down over time, and tiny bits of plastic go down the sink with every wash. They also start to smell after a week. Coconut coir is the old way of cleaning vessels in Indian homes, and it still works well.
These scrubbers are made from coconut husk fibre. The problem with ordinary coir pads is that they come apart quickly, leaving loose fibres in the sink. We stitch ours in a zigzag pattern, which holds the fibres tightly so the scrubber keeps its shape for weeks.
They’re tough enough for oily kadais and burnt tawa and gentle enough for everyday plates and glasses. When a scrubber is worn out, you don’t have to throw it in the bin. Put it in your compost or bury it in a plant pot, and it breaks down naturally.
Why you’ll like it
- Made from natural coconut coir
- Zigzag stitching keeps it together longer
- No plastic fibres going down your drain
- Removes oil, grease and burnt food
- Dries fast and doesn’t smell like sponges do
- Biodegradable, so it can go in compost when it’s worn out
- Pack of 5, enough for a few months
Use it for
Steel vessels, kadais, tawas, glass, ceramic plates, the kitchen sink, tiles and countertops.
How to use
Wet the scrubber, add a little dishwash gel and scrub. Rinse it after use and squeeze out the water.
Care tips
- Hang it or keep it somewhere airy so it dries between uses.
- Once a week, soak it in hot water for a few minutes to keep it fresh.
- Replace it when the fibres start to loosen. Usually that’s every 3 to 4 weeks with daily use.
Pack contains: 5 scrubbers
